Description

Offering the richest marine life in the region, luxurious bamboo accommodations, overflowing delicious naturally grown food, and a selection of water activities, Bamboo Island is the epitome of stylish island living. Treat yourself to the island lifestyle you've been dreaming of and indulge in a luxurious getaway to a tropical paradise. Everywhere you look, lush landscapes and vibrant marine life greet you—a testimony to the zero-carbon lifestyle Bamboo Island boasts. A truly unique experience awaits you when you book this private getaway.

Do Coron in style! Choose a lush postcard-perfect tropical paradise with turquoise-blue waters, powdery-white sand and coconut trees instead of the usual noisy and dirty choices the town has to offer. Our island was just listed in SPOT's 10 Breathtaking Island Resorts Around the Philippines and has the richest marine life, fabulous organic food, experienced and caring staff and thrilling activities to keep you coming back!

The space
It is the ultimate dream island, with the richest marine life in the region, smart and luxurious designer bamboo cottages and pavilions, fabulous organic food and access to a world of fun, healthy activities.

The island's raw beauty has been preserved and enhanced by the careful development of a gorgeous zero-carbon tropical resort that makes the whole visual auditory experience unique and rare.

Accommodation and Lifestyle: Small is Beautiful!

Mindful small-space living mixed with the priceless luxury of your own private island all around it, complete with personal chef and friendly yet discrete staff. Our uniquely designed bamboo huts have all the island life luxuries anyone would be entitled to demand: a million-dollar view, comfy seats, outside terrace, warm white lights, a queen-size bed, super soft bedsheets, great pillows, a quiet fan, a mosquito net, great tasting 3- stage filtered UV treated drinking water, spotless bathrooms, fluffy towels, all-natural bath products and a flashlight!

Life on the island revolves around the spacious, open-air main pavilion, situated right on the beach and featuring a sunset lounge, a reggae bar, award-winning kitchen and dining areas, all with commanding views of the surrounding waters, islands and mountainscapes.

The Food: Farm to Kitchen

We take our food very seriously on the island and try to give you what others can't: a real, flavorful home cooking feeling using the best and safest local ingredients we know. We grow our own vegetables, citrus, herbs and poultry, have access to the freshest non-farmed seafood and cook only with natural fresh ingredients.

All our meals feature fresh salads and greens, grilled steamed seafood or meat, rice, potatoes or pastas, fresh fruits and home-made bread. We only use canola oil, extra virgin olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil, no MSG, no Magic Sarap, no palm oil. Our organic farm provides Thai basil, sweet basil, cilantro, parsley, chives, mint and vegetables as well as calamansi (native lime), dayap (green lime, exact breed as Brazil's famous limon gallego) and big native lemons and we use them all quite profusely in what we cook!

Real Zero-Carbon Living

The island is as zero-carbon as it gets! Operations are 100% solar-powered. For water, huge rainwater collectors feed our 100 cubic meter tank and we use two solar-powered desalinators, eco-smart faucets and showers, plus all toilets are flushed with salt water!

As to materials, we recognize the functional and aesthetic superiority of wood, coco lumber, bamboo, rattan and other locally-relevant materials and they are all we use for buildings and furniture.

Guest access

Snorkeling
After more than 10 years of proper care, our reef is one of the best preserved in the region and is bustling with marine life, whether swimming, flying or growing very slowly. Do grab one of our high quality masks and snorkels and just swim 10 meters out and start major meditation with the best neighbors one could possibly dream of. Make sure not to touch or damage or kill anything with your body or equipment! Spearfishing a big no-no!

Paddle Boarding
The reef is equally amazing as seen from a Stand-Up Paddleboard, so get up and experience freedom on the water while working on your core muscles and posture! For a tandem moment, jump on the kayaks and work on your synch! Don't forget to bring one of our quality mask and snorkel for a dip if anything looks interesting!

Sailing
Sailing around the bay is an amazing experience and a Hobie Cat is available for free use by experienced cat sailors. Tours and instructions available ($35/hour).

Darts
Quality darts are available for those long lazy afternoons.

Yoga
Lots of inspiring parts on the beach to do your asanas, we have mats if you need one. From July to November, check out our special yoga retreats complete with vegetarian chefs and experienced like-minded instructors.

Boardgames
Scrabble, chess, backgammon, Pictionary, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Cards Against Humanity, tarot, poker, jenga, sungka and petanque!

Big Bamboo Sunset Cruise
A 20-minute ride to the "best reef in the region" with cocktails under the "best umbrella in the region".

Farm Lunch Experience
An hour ride through picturesque islands, straits and mangroves followed by a 15-minute walk to our pride and joy, the Tapiken Organic Farm. Harvest your own veggies & herbs, and gear up for a unique lunch experience on the big communal banana-leaf covered bamboo table! A river also runs through it and the swimming there brings back all sorts of childhood memories.

Island Hopping
We have a range of bancas and speedboats to take you to some fabulous neighboring white-sand-and-turqouise-waters islands like Canipo, Ditaytayan, Malcapuya, Calumbuyan, Coron Islands, Pass Island, North Cay, South Cay, Pamalican Island, or further still, to the mysterious Black Island!

Diving
Obviously, Busuanga is the place to go underwater! Dive tours can easily be organized with our friends from Sangat Island Dive Resort, expert in wreck/island reef diving in Coron for 25 years! Various day tours to wrecks and reefs can be organized, see with our watersports gurus.

Kiteboarding
Our raison d'etre. When Amihan (Easterlies) is on (December 1 - April 1), the kiters move in and equipment + rescue boat are available ($55/hour), check out 250k, the best kiteboarding school in the Philippines!

Deep-Sea Fishing
A beautiful Cabo '38, fully equipped for serious deep-fishing, can be chartered from BBL, just across the bay. Rate starts at $1800/day, maximum of 20 pax.

Other things to note
We offer all-inclusive tours and parties, customized for families or groups of friends or co-workers, as well as unique wedding/honeymoon escapes, traditional yoga/wellness retreats, culinary workshops in the best kitchen in Palawan, memorable corporate seminars, outings and photo shoots.
