Description
The Lake House is our family's private vacation home which can hosts small groups of families and friends who would like to spend a quiet and relaxing weekend away from the city. We live 300 meters above sea level and breathe in the freshest mountain air from the surrounding forests and from the breeze of the Pacific Ocean only 22 km. away. We are surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees of the Caliraya Watershed which makes for a true nature experience. Our home has been running entirely on solar power for the past 10 years and it has brought many challenging aspects of sustainable living.
We have requested all guests to be extra mindful of their power and water consumption during their stay. We do not allow rice cookers, thermal jugs, hairdryers, curling irons, clothes iron, gaming consoles, and any other appliance that will add to our current power output capacity.
Our cabins are situated along hillsides and would require climbing between 50 to 72 garden steps depending on location. All our bedrooms are fan-cooled and not air-conditioned. Daytime and nighttime temperatures are normally 4- 5 degrees cooler than Manila.
Our kitchen is equipped with basic cooking equipment and tools for conventional cooking methods and includes an outdoor area with a large gas grill and brick oven. We have indoor and outdoor dining areas and enough plates, cutlery, and glasses for groups of up to 12 persons.
Our lakeside lounge features a spacious area overlooking Lake Caliraya with the imposing Mount Banahaw in the background. The adjacent room has a conference table, whiteboard, and smart TV which may be used for meetings. Otherwise, you can watch films on DVD or play card and board games.
During very sunny days, this is the only room that may be air-conditioned to allow you some respite from the summer heat usually in March, April, and May. By the lawn is the recreational area where we have a bonfire pit, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, fishing gear, life-vests, and other outdoor sports equipment.
