Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore: The latest version of the iconic model unveiled
Luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet has just unveiled an update of its "Offshore" models, the first in more than 10 years.
Since 2010, the Offshore range, in the watchmaking house's catalogue since 1993, had not experienced such an upheaval. To give a boost to these models, which have become iconic of the brand, Audemars Piguet presented a few days ago five new 42mm models and five new 43mm references.
The 43mm version, first of all, has undergone some modifications such as polished chamfers more assertive on the edge of the case or curves on the screwed crown. The interchangeable strap system has also been revised to change color and style as you see fit. Finally, the dial has also been revised with the chronograph counters that have been reorganized for better legibility, as well as the inscription of the initials of the brand, replacing the entire name.
Made of titanium, stainless steel or 18-carat rose gold, models will range from $36,200 to $56,000 with five color variations. The self-winding calibre 4401 Maison allows models to have 70 hours of power reserve with a patented system that ensures a perfect reset.
The 42mm models, meanwhile, offer sporty and elegant shades to the Offshore design. Two of these new models offer "Mega Tapestry" dial backs and you also have the choice between the green dial or the blue dial. These titanium models were priced at $33,400.
The other 42mm models are faithful to the original Offshore look and feature a "Small Tapestry" dial back and are available in stainless steel, titanium or 18-carat rose gold, with prices that can climb up to $76,000. Anyway, all 42mm models incorporate the caliber 4404 with flyback function.
