Category: Fashion
Established: 1925

Fendi is a brand Italian of -a-porter loan of luxury founded in 1925 by Adele and Eduardo Fendi, whose reputation rests on his choice of shoes and furs. Since 2001, Fendi has belonged to the "Fashion & Leather Goods" division of the French group LVMH 2 . Its headquarters are in Rome , in the Palace of Italian Civilization 3 . The company is managed by Pietro Beccari from 2012 until the end of 2017, and its artistic director is the designer Karl Lagerfeld from 1965 to 2019.

Fendi is also a luxury brand famous for its bags (in particular the Baguette bag designed by Silvia Fendi 6 , with the logo designed by Karl Lagerfeld).

Fendi stores can be found all over the world. In recent years [When?], Fendi has entered the US market with stores in New York, Bal Harbor, and the Galleria in Houston.

The history of this brand begins in Rome in 1925 when the couple Adèle and Eduardo Fendi decided to specialize in fur and leather goods. Fendi's creations gained popularity in the 1940s, first in Rome, then abroad. The brand was a real success when the five daughters of Adèle and Eduardo Fendi joined the family business. In 1965, they recruit Karl Lagerfeld, a young German stylist, as the brand's artistic director. The latter is at the origin of the Fendi logo which takes the form of two inverted.

Fendi created its ready-to-wear collection for women in 1977, under the direction of Lagerfeld.

Sylvia Fendi, the granddaughter of Adèle and Eduardo created the Baguette bag in 1997, which became the it-bag, an essential accessory in the fashion world.

The Fendi family bought in 2001, a palace of the century, in Rome. Palazzo Fendi opened in 2016 and offers a boutique and workshop dedicated to the 11 brand .

February 20 LVMH announces the appointment of Serge Brunschwig as CEO of Fendi, 3 e brand luxury group by turnover 12 . He succeeds Pietro Beccari, appointed CEO of Christian Dior Couture in November 2017.
