Apo Reef is one of our favorite places, with very few tourists due to its remote location, offering an exclusive experience at the world's second-largest contiguous coral reef—a pristine UNESCO nominee park where there are amazing scuba dives along dramatic vertical walls, snorkeling in gin-clear water surrounded by "fish-nados" of jacks, encounters with majestic sea turtles and reef sharks, and the chance to climb the iconic lighthouse for a 360-degree panorama before mooring overnight in perfect, starlit solitude.
